Who Says Boudoir is Just for Girly Girls - or Just for Girls, Period?

Alright, folks, time for a little myth-busting: Boudoir is NOT just for the girly girls, and it's definitely not just for the ladies!

Let's just put it out there: in this new era, we DO what we LIKE. Whether you're a guy, gal, or anywhere in between, boudoir is open for YOU. 

So, if you're sitting there thinking, "I'd love to have a boudoir session, but I'm not sure it's my vibe," let me stop you right there. It's TOTALLY your vibe because YOU are the vibe! You are the boss, the director, the star — basically, it’s all about you! Boudoir is all about expressing who you are, and the only person who gets to decide what that looks like is YOU.

You want to add a bit of edge or punk to your photoshoot, go ahead, no one's holding you back! The sky is literally the limit when it comes to expressing yourself in your boudoir session. Let your freak flag fly and show off your unique style!

If you're sitting there thinking, "Okay, I'm in, but how do I even start?" Don't worry, I got you! I’ve got some tips to get you started on your boudoir journey that is SO not just about frilly lace and satin — unless that's your thing, of course ;)

First up, props are not only welcomed, they're ENCOURAGED!

If you've got a baseball bat that holds a special place in your heart, or a guitar that you love to strum, bring 'em! Or maybe you're more of a rocker, in that case, your favorite band merch and that spiked collar that screams YOU are just what we need! If you're a bookworm, bring along your favorite novel. 

The point is, these items don't have to be fancy or expensive, they just need to represent YOU and what you love. Prrops help you feel more at ease during the session. Plus, it gives the photographer a glimpse into your world, helping them capture your personality even better!

Now, let's talk outfits.

Contrary to popular belief, lingerie is NOT a must for a boudoir shoot. If you feel more at ease in a t-shirt and jeans, or a tank top and boy shorts with suspenders paired with cowboy boots, then THAT is your boudoir outfit. Even a fitted pencil skirt can be your power piece!

The bottom line is, there are no rules when it comes to what you wear during your boudoir session. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable, confident, and totally YOU in whatever you're wearing. If you're feeling unsure, just play pretend: imagine you're on stage, you're the rock star, you're the main attraction. 

The third rule of boudoir club (and don't worry, we do talk about boudoir club) is to have FUN with your shoot!

Boudoir is supposed to be a blast, a riot, a hoot - you get the idea! This session is all about YOU, celebrating who you are and expressing your individuality. 

If you want to be silly or serious, or a mix of both, go for it! We’ll play your favorite tunes to keep the vibes high, and don't hesitate to let loose and dance around. The more fun you're having, the better your photos will end up! Boudoir is about exploring your sensuality and sexuality in a safe, comfortable environment, so let yourself go and see what happens. And, who knows, you might even uncover a new side of yourself that you never knew existed ;)
